Over 200 people gathered for Ray of Hope PCM's Shelbina Fall Benefit lunch on Sunday, October 27th at the Shelbina First Christian Church. The theme for the event was 'Building a Culture of Life'. Ray of Hope PCM is a pregnancy resource center and is located at 136 Shelby Plaza Road in Shelbina, MO. The Shelbina center is currently open every Monday from 10am-6pm. A free will offering was taken at the event to enable Ray of Hope PCM to continue to provide no cost services to the community. Center services include no cost pregnancy tests, ultrasound referrals, parenting classes/monthly community classes, and case management. The Shelbina center also hosts a 'Caring Community' night every 2nd Monday of the month from 4-6pm where anyone in need can stop by for a diaper supply pack.
All together $11,214.00 was raised for the ministry through the event exceeding the ministry's $10,000 goal. A live pie auction was featured as the main event which raised $2,440.00 of the overall total. Various varieties of pies were donated by some of the best bakers in the area and during the auction friendly bidding wars helped raise funds for the center. Ray of Hope PCM's building theme was in connection to the continued expansion of their services to provide more fatherhood services, furthering resources to help strengthen and support families in the community. #builditrayofhope
